Great place to learn but difficult if you only want to focus on clinical care
The hours are long but you get a lot of time off and holidays off. The additional duties can be cumbersome and can take a lot of time away from patients. You can take the time you need to take care of patients though.
Fulfilling work
I really enjoyed the kind of dentistry I was doing. We were able to provide whatever the patient needed without worrying about if they could afford it. I loved being able to care so well for my patients. The clinic had around 10-12 dentists plus support staff.

Your morale depends on your work environment which completely depends on who your commander is, who your coworkers are. You also get out what you put in.
Relaxed environment fun to be part of the US military
Glad I was able to serve for three years in the armed forces. I enjoyed the opportunity to see our military at work and enjoyed being a Dentist right out of school and the continuing education available during that time.

The Dental clinic was well organized and work flow was smooth. The compensation department was poor
The Air Force was a good place to work and the Medical/ Dental group was well organized and excellent training scenarios were provided. I had pay issues from the day I started to six months after I left. Their Compensation Branch was the worst in my career.
